Mark Jarman's most recent book, Questions for Ecclesiastes
(Storyline Press, 1997), was a finalist for National Book Critics
Circle Award in Poetry. Other works include Iris (Storyline
Press, 1992), The Black Riviera (Wesleyan, 1990), Far and
Away (Carnegie-Mellon, 1985), The Rote Walker (Carnegie-Mellon,
1981) and North Sea (Cleveland State, 1978). Questions for
Ecclesiastes won the Lenore Marshall Prize for 1998. His most
recent book is Unholy Sonnets, published in 2000. Two books
of criticism are forthcoming in 2001: The Secret of Poetry
(Story Line Press) and Body and Soul: Essays on Poetry (University
of Michigan Press). Mr. Jarman has also published widely in such journals
as APR, Hudson Review, The New Yorker, Southern Review, New Criterion,
