Support AWP

AWP's services and programs reach nearly 50,000 writers, students, teachers, editors, publishers, and arts administrators, and the organization is among the most wide-reaching sources of advocacy and support for the literary community. Your gift to AWP will help us continue to build support for writers and their work and develop new audiences for literature. Learn more about our giving programs and benefits below. AWP is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations to AWP are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. To learn more about AWP's fundraising goals, please review our case statement. A PDF of our most recent annual report is available to the right.

AWP invites support from individuals, institutions, and corporate partners:

Individual Giving

In directing your donation, you have a choice of four funds: AWP's Annual Fund, the Endowment for the Donald Hall Prize in Poetry, the Endowment for the Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction, or the Endowment for AWP Services. You will be asked to select a fund when you donate. Donations may be made by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express at our online store, or by check with our donation form. While our suggested giving levels are listed below, AWP is very thankful for support of any kind and any amount.

Giving vs. Joining

As a membership organization, AWP provides many services and benefits to those who join. But membership dues only underwrite part of our services, and are not used to shape new initiatives, support program development, or grow our endowments. If you are already a member, please consider a gift in support of AWP's new projects and improvements in current services. If you are not a member, please consider donating at a level that includes the extensive benefits of our membership.
