Virtual Conference Platform – Blind & Low Vision
Pathable, the provider of our virtual conference platform, is navigable by keyboard and is usable by screen readers. If you are looking for a compatible free screen reader, Pathable recommends Pericles for Google Chrome.
Pathable is also compatible with native accessibility features on your personal device such as color contrast adjustment, magnification, and other customizations. AWP has provided alt-text where possible on the platform.
We will be providing a plain-text, large-font schedule of events with hyperlinks to access events on the virtual conference platform if you do not want to navigate the virtual platform.
Additionally, we would like to encourage the practice of having attendees physically describe themselves at the beginning of meetings or interactions on Zoom. This recommendation will be included in AWP’s Zoom Accessibility Guide, and there will also be an attribute in each attendee profile for them to include a physical description. We have also provided a plain-text, large-font Zoom Accessibility Guide.
If you have questions about blind and low-vision services, please contact Colleen Cable at email@example.com.

All featured events will be ASL interpreted and live-captioned. All virtual events will include captions.
Virtual Conference Zoom Guides
On the virtual conference platform, there will be the opportunity to interact with fellow attendees in Zoom meeting rooms.
We are developing guides for using Zoom in an accessible way for both those who are hosting Zoom meetings and for those who are attending. This guide will be released and shared soon.
Should you need keyboard navigation of Zoom, please explore the keyboard shortcuts prior to the meeting. A link to these instructions will be available in each session’s description.
