The Association of Writers & Writing Programs offers six contests for both members and nonmembers of AWP.

The AWP Award Series in the Novel, Poetry, Fiction, and Creative Nonfiction
The AWP Award Series is an annual competition for the publication of excellent new book-length works of poetry, fiction,and creative nonfiction. Winners in the Award Series receive a $2,000 cash honorarium plus publication of their book by University of Pittsburgh Press, University of Massachusetts Press, or University of Georgia Press.
AWP/ George Garrett Award for Outstanding Community Service in Literature
The award includes a $1,000 honorarium from AWP in addition to travel, accomodations, and registration for attending the AWP Conference, where the Award will be conferred.
The Intro Journals Project
The Intro Journals Project is a literary competition for the discovery & publication of the best new works by students currently enrolled in the programs of AWP. Winners of this contest receive a $50 cash honorarium and are published in Hayden's Ferry Review, Mid-American Review, Puerto del Sol, Controlled Burn, Quarterly West, Tampa Review, Willow Springs, and Artful Dodge.
The WC&C Scholarship Competition
Winners of this competition receive a $500 scholarship to attend the writing conference of their choice.
The National Program Directors' Prizes for Undergraduate Literary Magazines
This contest awards the best literary magazines produced by undergradutes at AWP member programsone in content, and one in designwith a $500 cash honorarium.
