Overflow Hotel Notice:
New overflow hotel posted! ~1/19/12

Warning!
Please take note: AWP has received a report that a company calling themselves the "National Travel Association" has been calling AWP members to say they can secure them a "further discounted rate" at the conference hotels. This is a scam designed to obtain financial information. Please note that the only way to secure a reservation with any of our conference hotels is through the hotels directly. AWP does not endorse or use any third party organizations to help with the AWP conference hotel rooms, and financial information to secure a room should only ever be given directly to the hotels themselves.

Discount Lodging at Conference Hotels:
We pride ourselves on offering the best hotel rates for our Conference attendees. AWP's Conference hotels typically sell out of rooms months in advance; so reserve your room soon to avoid disappointment. Below is a list of AWP Conference Hotels offering discount lodging to Conference attendees. All reservations must be guaranteed with a one-night deposit (applicable towards your hotel bill) and a major credit card.

Reserve Your Room Online
To book your room online and receive our discount rate today, please visit the special AWP Conference page at each hotel by clicking on the hotel logo or following the "Website Reservations" link. All reservations must be guaranteed with a refundable one-night deposit (applicable towards your hotel bill) and a major credit card.

Reserve Your Room by Telephone
To book your room by telephone and receive our discount rate today, please call one of the hotels listed below, and tell them you're with AWP's conference. All reservations must be guaranteed with a refundable one-night deposit (applicable towards your hotel bill) and a major credit card.

If you do not receive AWP’s discount conference rate please contact AWP Conference Services: conference@awpwriter.org

Two things you should know before reserving your room:

  1. Please do not reserve more rooms than you currently have a confirmed need for. AWP’s discounted rooms sell out quickly, and each year dozens of discounted rooms being held by attendees are cancelled and go unused. Please be considerate of your peers and all other Conference attendees by only reserving rooms for those individuals that are confirmed to attend the Conference.
  2. You will be asked to secure your room with a one-night deposit. The deposit for the Hilton Chicago, Palmer House Hilton, and Renaissance Blackstone is non-refundable after 60 days in advance of your arrival date. If you cancel your reservations for any of the hotels fewer than 72 hours in advance of your arrival the hotel may apply a cancellation fee to your deposit. If you check out prior to your reserved checkout date the hotel may apply an early departure fee.

Please be mindful of the deadlines at each hotel to reserve a room at AWP’s rate. After these dates the Conference rate will no longer be available to attendees.
