Founded in 1990, Future Tense Books continues to publish some of contemporary literature's most diverse and daring voices, many of whom continue to contribute to American letters today, among them three of the panelists. Come hear the bold and eclectic voices from the many years of Future Tense authors, as well as from the publisher.

Moderator:

Jamie Iredell is the author of The Book of Freaks, Prose. Poems. a Novel., I Was a Fat Drunk Catholic School Insomniac, and Last Mass.His writing has appeared in the Rumpus, the Chattahoochee Review, the Literary Review, PANK, Copper Nickel, and many other magazines.

Kevin Sampsell is the publisher of Future Tense Books, as well as a bookseller (Powell's Books), collage artist, and author. His books include This Is Between Us and A Common Pornography. One of his essays was included in Best American Essays 2013.

Chelsea Martin is an author and artist from California. She is the author of four books, the most recent of which is Mickey, forthcoming. Her website is jerkethics.com.

Myriam Gurba wrote Dahlia Season, Wish You Were Me, Sweatsuits of the Damned, and Painting Their Portraits in Winter. She works as a teacher in Long Beach, California.

Wendy C. Ortiz is the author of Excavation: A Memoir, Hollywood Notebook, and the forthcoming Bruja. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Hazlitt, the Nervous Breakdown, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, the Rumpus, and other journals.
