Join five BOA authors whose poetry spans the 40-year history of one of America's true independent literary treasures. The panelists read from their BOA titles and share a few words about BOA's place in the past, present, and future of our literary landscape.

Moderator:

Michael Waters has published ten books of poetry, including Celestial Joyride, Gospel Night, Darling Vulgarity (finalist for the LA Times Book Prize), and Parthenopi: New and Selected Poems. He is coeditor of Contemporary American Poetry. He teaches at Monmouth University and in the Drew University MFA program.

Li-Young Lee is the author of four critically acclaimed books of poetry, including: Rose, winner of the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Award; The City in Which I Love You, a Lamont Poetry Selection; Book of My Nights; and Behind My Eyes. He is also the author of the memoir The Winged Seed: A Remembrance.

Aracelis Girmay is the author of the collage-based book changing, changing, and the poetry collections Teeth and Kingdom Animalia. She is on the faculty of Drew University's low residency MFA program and Hampshire College's School for Interdisciplinary Arts.

Jillian Weise is the author of The Amputee's Guide to Sex, The Colony, and The Book of Goodbyes. Recent work appears in Granta, the New Republic, and Tin House. She teaches at Clemson University.

Nikola Madzirov (poet, essayist, translator, editor) was born in a family of Balkan Wars refugees. His poetry has been translated into more than thirty languages. His book in English is Remnants of Another Age. His poetry awards are the European Hubert Burda award and Miladinov Brothers award at Struga Poetry Evenings.
