Wichita State University’s MFA Program celebrates its 40th anniversary with a reading by current faculty presenting their own work as well as highlights from a celebrated group of alumni.

Moderator:

Margaret Dawe is the author of the novel Nissequott, named by The New York Times as a New and Noteworthy Paperback. Her nonfiction has appeared in Sonora Review and Antioch Review. She directs the creative writing program at Wichita State.

Josh Barkan is the author of the short story collection Before Hiroshima and the novel Blind Speed, which was named a finalist for the 2009 Paterson Fiction Prize. He received a fellowship from the NEA in 2006. He has taught at Harvard, NYU, Boston University, and Wichita State University.

Sam Taylor is the author of two books of poems, Body of the World and the forthcoming collection Nude Descending an Empire. He teaches as an Assistant Professor in the MFA program at Wichita State University.

Albert Goldbarth is the only poet to have twice won the National Book Critics Circle Award. He has been distinguished professor in the Wichita State MFA program for twenty-five years. His new book of poems is forthcoming in 2015 and new book of essays in 2016.
