FUSE Caucus: The Forum for Undergraduate Student Editors and Writers

Undergraduate student writers and editors, accompanied by faculty advisors and mentors, meet at AWP’s FUSE Caucus to network and discuss issues related to the world of undergraduate literary publishing, editing, and writing. Organizational updates are followed by an open discussion, elections, and event planning for the upcoming year. This year’s focus will be "Where Are We Going, Where Have We Been?" which was the theme at the annual FUSE Conference, hosted by SUNY Geneseo.

Moderator:

Jess Jelsma Masterton is a writer, editor, and educator. She is an assistant professor of publishing and media entrepreneurship at Susquehanna University, where she also serves as the director of SU Press. She holds a PhD from the University of Cincinnati and an MFA from the University of Alabama.

Rachel Hall is the author of Heirlooms, a collection of linked stories, which was selected by Marge Piercy for the BkMk Press 2015 G.S. Sharat Chandra Book Prize. She is professor of English at SUNY Geneseo, where she holds two Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence.

Reed Wilson is the author of Orpheum, and his poems have appeared in the Antioch Review, Cortland Review, Chattahoochee Review, and elsewhere. He lives in Los Angeles, and teaches in the English Department at UCLA.

Michael Cocchiarale is an associate professor of English and creative writing at Widener University, where he teaches courses in American literature, fiction writing, and composition. He is the author of Here Is Ware (short stories) and None of the Above (a novel).

Ellie Pasquale is an undergraduate at Susquehanna University, where she serves as the managing editor of RiverCraft literary magazine and the conference coordinator for FUSE. She formerly managed the TikTok account of a best-selling author and currently works as a library research assistant.
