Join AWP staff and a former AWP George Garrett Award winner Ekiwah Adler-Beléndez for a discussion of opportunities for high-schoolers in the literary world from AWP membership to college admissions to publishing to career paths. Then explore the Bookfair and visit various exhibitors to learn more about different types of literary organizations and career opportunities. Followed by a collaborative poem writing workshop with Ekiwah Adler-Beléndez.

Ekiwah Adler-Beléndez is from Amatlan, Mexico, a small village an hour from Mexico. He is the author of Soy (I Am), Palabras Inagotables, Weaver, and The Coyote's Trace, the last with an introduction by Mary Oliver.
