Since the spring of 1999, the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry from Southern Illinois University Press has worked to publish some of the best new collections by established and new voices in American poetry. Our efforts have resulted in more than fifty books and counting. Come join us and four of our authors in celebrating fifteen years.

Moderator:

Jon Tribble teaches at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he is the series editor of the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry published by Southern Illinois University Press and the managing editor of Crab Orchard Review.

Honorée Fanonne Jeffers is the author of three books of poetry, The Gospel of Barbecue, Outlandish Blues, and Red Clay Suite. Most recently, she received a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and she is associate professor of English at the University of Oklahoma.

Jennifer Richter's poetry collection Threshold was chosen by Natasha Trethewey for the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry. She was awarded a Wallace Stegner Fellowship and Jones Lectureship by Stanford University, and she currently teaches poetry in Oregon State University's MFA program.

Jeffrey Skinner's new book of poems, Glaciology, was published in 2013. Down Range, his latest play, will be produced in Chicago in 2014, and his recent prose book, The 6.5 Practices of Moderately Successful Poets, won the bronze IPPY award. He teaches at the University of Louisville.

Jason Sommer's four poetry collections are Lifting the Stone, Other People's Troubles, The Man Who Sleeps in My Office, and The Laughter of Adam and Eve. He has held fellowships from Stanford University and the Whiting Foundation. He teaches at Fontbonne University in St. Louis.
