An event for all independent literary publishers: seasoned professionals, those just starting out, and all in-between. Hear what CLMP and SPD are planning for the year, and share thoughts on how we can best serve our stakeholders.

Moderator:

Jeffrey Lependorf serves as the shared Executive Director of our two national service organizations for independent literary publishing—the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) and Small Press Distribution (SPD)—providing technical assistance to and advocating on behalf of the indies.

Montana Agte-Studier is the director of membership and development at CLMP. Montana holds a BFA in jazz flute and a BA in literature/arts in context from The New School University. She is currently working on her first novel.

Natalie Mesnard is director of programs & strategic communications at CLMP. Her fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction have appeared in places such as The Gettysburg Review, Kenyon Review Online, The Journal, and Green Mountains Review, and she is currently at work on a novel.

Laura Moriarty is the deputy director of Small Press Distribution where she has worked since 1999. For more than a decade, she was director of the American Poetry Archives for the Poetry Center at San Francisco State University. She is the author of fourteen books of poetry and two novels.

Brent Cunningham is the operations director for Small Press Distribution, where he has worked since 1999. Along with SPD’s other directors, he has helped nearly double sales at the organization over the past decade. He is the author of two books of poetry, Journey to the Sun and Bird & Forest.
