Exhibit Halls A, B, & D, Plaza & Level 2

W101. Bookfair Setup, Sponsored by Hollins University: Jackson Center for Creative Writing. The exhibit halls at the Hynes Convention Center will be open for setup. For safety and security reasons, only those wearing an exhibitor access badge, or those accompanied by an individual wearing an exhibitor access badge, will be permitted inside the exhibit halls during setup hours. Bookfair exhibitors are welcome to pick up their registration materials in AWP’s preregistered check-in area, located in Exhibit Hall C on Level 2 of the Hynes Convention Center

12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.

Exhibit Hall C, Level 2

W100. Conference Registration. Attendees who have registered in advance may pick up their registration materials in the preregistered check-in area, located in Exhibit Hall C on Level 2 of the Hynes Convention Center. If you have not yet registered for the conference, visit the unpaid registration area, also in Exhibit Hall C. Please consult the bookfair map in the conference planner for location details. Students must present a valid student ID to check in or register at our student rate. Seniors must present a valid ID to register at our senior rate, and should do so only at unpaid registration. A $50 fee will be charged for all replacement badges.

W102. Lactation Room. To gain access to our shared lactation room, visit the AWP Help Desk in the preregistered check-in area of Exhibit Hall C. For reasons of privacy and security, access to the lactation room is granted by permission of AWP only.

W103. WITS Membership Meeting. Writers in the Schools (WITS) Alliance invites current and prospective members to attend a general meeting led by Robin Reagler, Executive Director of WITS-Houston.

5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

W104. CLMP & SPD Publisher Meeting. (Jamie Schwartz, Tasha Sorenson) The staffs of the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses and Small Press Distribution discuss issues facing CLMP and SPD publishers, goals for the organizations, and upcoming programs.

8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

 

W105. AWP Opening Night: A Celebration of Prize Winners & Friends. An evening of cocktails, congratulations, and music to honor nominees and winners of AWP's awards, including the George Garrett Award for Outstanding Community Service in Literature, the Award Series, and the Small Press Publisher Award. By invitation only, the reception brings together prize winners, nominees, sponsors, donors, exhibitors, program directors, and faculty to celebrate AWP's literary community. Invitations will be emailed to guests in January. Donate today for your chance to join the fun at our 2014 conference!
