Megan Lahman is a proud working class, non-neurotypical, Appalachian poet hailing from Frostburg, Maryland. She’s a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with her degree in civic journalism, and is also an alumnus of the university’s creative writing undergraduate residency program, the Jiménez-Porter Writers’ House. Other literary achievements include publication in the Backbone Mountain Review, a 2008-2009 Folger’s Poetry Lannan Fellow, and a 2008 Friends of the Fine Arts Work Center scholarship recipient for the FAWC in Provincetown. She currently works at a call center, still occasionally a music journalist during free time, and dreams of attending graduate school.
