Cynthia Huijgens

Spring 2016 Session

Cynthia has spent the last five years discovering best kept secrets to successful expat living in Cairo, Egypt. A graduate of the University of Minnesota (MEd, Art Education) and Iowa State University (BA, Art and Design), Cynthia is fully immersed in visual and literary arts. Having recently completed the University of Iowa course “How Writers Write Fiction” and last year’s week-long residential Novel Retreat at Vermont College of Fine Arts, Cynthia hones her craft writing short stories and her first YA novel is near completion. She lives with her husband and a labradoodle named Luna and has grown sons.

Cynthia worked with the YA fiction writer Najiyah Maxfield.
