Wednesday, July 12

1:00 p.m.— Bell House presents: Shared Reading Sessions. Come out and experience community through literature where each week, a poem or story is brought to discuss. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

8 p.m.— Join Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture for Poetry Hour: Notes from the Field Hosted by Marcelo Hernandez Castillo. This salon-style event will feature Marcelo Hernandez Castillo in conversation with poets, artists, thinkers, and other creative minds from around the nation and the world. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Saturday, July 15

12 noon— The Zen Pen presents Contemplative Writing--Virtual Café. Attend to become inspired by others and hold one another accountable in your writing endeavors. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Monday, July 17

2:00 p.m.— The Fallow House presents July Book Club · Let There Be Art, by Rachel Marie Kang. Attendees should come prepared ready to discuss Let There Be Art. This will be one of two sessions taking place in July which cover this novel. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Wednesday, July 19

11 a.m.— Get inspired with Monthly workshops: How to publish your book in 2023. Specializing in neurodivergent audiences, these workshops are safe spaces to explore barriers and breakthrough techniques. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.  

Friday, July 21

3:00 p.m.— The Mechanics’ Institute presents The Writers’ Lunch: Telling Forgotten Stories. Join writers Heather Bourbeau, Alissa Greenberg, and Julia Scheeres as they unite to discuss writing about little-known or forgotten histories. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Saturday, July 22

10:00 a.m.— Join author Erica Richmond for a free writing event! Community Writing Session: July 22, 2023 will begin with a guided meditation that flows into a writing period and will wrap up with a sharing period. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Sunday, July 23

1 p.m.—  The Open Minds Project presents Queer Poetry Club! (BPOC). This club is open to LGTBQIA+ people of color. Bring something to write with and be ready to respond to a group writing prompt and share with the group. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Tuesday, July 25

2:00 p.m.— Find new books to add to your TBR list with Feminist Futures: VERVE Books Autumn Showcase. Listen to authors Sarah Rose Etter, Stephanie Feldman and Anne Heltzel as they discuss their new books for fall of 2023. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.
