A Bittersweet Farewell to AWP's Director of Publications

May 1, 2023

AWP bids a bittersweet farewell and wishes a happy retirement to Supriya Bhatnagar, one of our longest-tenured staff members. Supriya has served the publications department for twenty-five years and held many positions including assistant editor and director of publications. Her keen attention to detail, wit, kindness, and dedication to serving the nationwide writing community is evident through all she’s done for AWP and The Writer’s Chronicle. In addition to being a skilled editor and director, Supriya is a magnificent writer. Her short stories have appeared in Femina and 4IndianWoman.com and her essays have appeared in Perigee and Artful Dodge. Her memoir and then there were three… was published in 2010 by Serving House Books. A pillar of AWP’s history, Supriya’s presence will be greatly missed.
