Redesigned AWP Website is One Year Old!

August 22, 2013

On August 22, 2012, we launched our redesigned website, which contains community-building features and functionality. Since launch, new features such as videos of conference events, a new conference-event proposal system where presenters and organizers may manage their own events, a year-round calendar of opportunities for grants and awards, a bookfair exhibit management system, an interactive bookfair map, and a space for your discussions of every article we publish were developed.

Throughout the redesigned website’s second year, we will develop more content and new features. This will begin in September with the launch of AWP’s newest blog, The Writer’s Notebook, to offer in-depth and invigorating advice on being a writer. A new conference event schedule will follow in October with a search feature and more interactivity than we have ever been able to bring you before.

CupcakeTo thank you for visiting the redesigned website on its first birthday, the staff of AWP would like to welcome you to take part in a scavenger hunt throughout the website. We have hidden four small cupcakes on different pages of the website. If you find all four, email the URL addresses of the pages to the AWP webmaster at webmaster@awpwriter.org. The first person to find all four will win a complimentary registration for the 2014 AWP Conference & Bookfair in Seattle. From among all correct and complete entries, four second place winners will be selected to receive a free copy of an AWP Award Series book. We will help you get started by showing you the first of the four cupcakes here. Copy the URL of this page, and then continue searching for the remaining three. The deadline to enter is Sunday, August 25, 2013. Hint: the cupcakes in the photo below and the ones in the banner on the main page of the website do not count!

Find out who won the contest.

Since 1967, AWP has served writers. Our new website is an important component in providing services and content. The AWP staff is excited to have you participate in the redesigned website’s one-year anniversary, and we look forward to sharing with you soon all the new components we’ve been working on.
