• The National Poetry Series winners were announced, and the winners are… Not on the Last Day, But on the Very Last by Justin Boening; The Wug Test by Jennifer Kronovet; Scriptorium by Melissa Range; Trébuchet by Danniel Schoonebeek; The Sobbing School  by Joshua Bennett
• Roxane Gay won the PEN Center USA Freedom to Write Award, “For demonstrating exceptional courage in the defense of free expression.”
• Amazon opened a bookstore. A real, live bookstore.
