Proceeds from Manuscript Critiques to Benefit Long-Term Caregivers

November 19, 2014

Starting on Tuesday, November 25, several renowned writers will offer manuscript critiques for $400-$2,500, the proceeds of which will go to CAREGIFTED, a charity that offers weeklong vacations to long-term family caregivers who care for people with severe disabilities.

Participating writers and poets include Rae Armantrout, Billy Collins, Major Jackson, Eileen Myles, Tony Hoagland, Ben Lerner, Philip Levine, Elizabeth McCracken, Joyelle McSweeney, Janet Burroway, Laura van den Berg, Dean Young, Matthew Zapruder, and many others.

Organized by MacArthur “genius” and CAREGIFTED executive director Heather McHugh, this is the second fundraising effort by the charity, which, according to its website, “seeks to harness the talents and compassion of all artists in all genres.”
