Description:

Inspired by Claudia Rankine’s call for white writers to write about whiteness. Subject does not have to be poets’ only subject matter. However, for the purposes of the group, this is the work we’d focus on. Members should be open to 'growth' as opposed to seeing ourselves as experts or reflecting a particular manifesto.

We’re inspired by goals of The Racial Imaginary Institute (TRII): “We begin here in order to make visible that which has been intentionally presented as inevitable so that we can move forward into more revelatory conversations about race. Our first (TRII) project questions what can be made when we investigate, evade, beset and call out bloc-whiteness.” Learn more about this organization at https://theracialimaginary.org/about/.
