Natalie Scenters-Zapico is from the sister cities of El Paso, Texas, U.S.A. and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México. She has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso and an MFA with a concentration in poetry from the University of New Mexico. She is the author of The Verging Cities (Colorado State University 2015) and Lima :: Limón, forthcoming (Copper Canyon Press). She has won awards and fellowships from the Lannan Foundation, PEN/America, CantoMundo, and is a 2018 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellow.  Her poems can be found in POETRY, Tin House, American Poets, The Believer, The Boston Review, Kenyon Review, among others. She teaches in English and Latina/o Studies at the University of Puget Sound.
