Natalie Scenters-Zapico  is the author of My Perfect Cognate (Copper Canyon Press 2025) Lima :: Limón (Copper Canyon Press 2019), and The Verging Cities (Colorado State University 2015). She has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso and an MFA with a concentration in poetry from the University of New Mexico. She has won Yale University's Windham-Campbell Prize, a Lannan Literary Fellowship, a CantoMundo Fellowship, and a Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation.  Her poems can be found in POETRY, Tin House, American Poets, The Believer, The Boston Review, Kenyon Review, and more. She teaches creative writing at the University of South Florida.
