Rebecca Makkai is the Chicago-based author of the novels The Great Believers, The Hundred-Year House, and The Borrower, as well as the story collection Music for Wartime. Her short fiction has been featured in The Best American Short Stories four times, and appears regularly in publications such as Harper’s, Tin House and Ploughshares. The recipient of a 2014 NEA Fellowship, Rebecca has taught at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and is currently on faculty in the Northwestern University and Sierra Nevada College MFA programs.
