Dr. Elaine Gale

California, United States

I'm an armchair symbologist, wear pajamas to run errands, am not domestically inclined, still love to read print newspapers, and have eaten smoked cobra. I dislike waxy apples, pretension, and humidity. I love possibility, making paper, loose-leaf tea, the Sonoran Desert, dancing of all kinds, playing the djembe, insubordination, finding meaning in the ordinary, traveling, and laughing uncontrollably.

I'm a writer, journalist, professor, artist, speaker, editor, sixth-generation Nebraskan, fourth-generation educator, collaborator, activist, arts enthusiast, relationship-builder, community creator and all-around rabble-rouser.
