Jean Hegland’s first novel, Into the Forest, has been translated into seventeen languages, and adapted as a film (starring Ellen Paige and Evan Rachel Wood), and a French graphic novel. Still Time, her newest novel, is about an aging Shakespearean scholar's final encounters with the plays. She is also the author of Windfalls, a novel about contemporary motherhood, and the nonfiction book The Life Within: Celebration of a Pregnancy. She has taught creative writing and literature for many years, both in California and abroad. She spent fall 2019 working on her next novel at the Fondation Jan Michalski in Switzerland.
