Mallory Hellman is an educator-activist serving as Director of the Iowa Youth Writing Project. At the University of Iowa, she teaches Writers in the Community, a literary experiential learning course focused on empowering marginalized youth through writing. She is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop and a proud Iowa City transplant. When not working with youth, Mallory hosts a queer reading group, gardens (perhaps excessively) and volunteers with Iowa City Mutual Aid.
