Bruce Snider is the author of Paradise, Indiana, winner of the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Poetry Prize, as well as The Year We Studied Women, winner of the Felix Pollak Prize in Poetry. Originally from Indiana, he lived for several years in Austin, Texas, where he was a James A. Michener Fellow in poetry and playwriting at the University of Texas Michener Center for Writers. His poems and non-fiction have appeared in the American Poetry Review, Poetry, Iowa Review, Ploughshares, PN Review, Gettysburg Review and Best American Poetry 2012. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow and Jones Lecturer at Stanford University, he has been a James Merrill Fellow at the James Merrill House in Stonington CT, an Amy Clampitt Fellow at the Amy Clampitt House in Lenox MA, and the Jenny McKean Moore writer-in-Washington at George Washington University. He currently lives in San Francisco and teaches at the University of San Francisco.
