Lynne Thompson’s collection, Start With A Small Guitar, was published by What Books Press in 2013.   Thompson's first collection, Beg No Pardon, won the Perugia Press Book Award in 2007 and the Great Lakes Colleges Associations' New Writers Award.  Her poems have been widely published in literary journals including Ploughshares, Sou’Wester, Crab Orchard Review, African American Review  and Prairie Schooner, and she is Reviews & Essays Editor of the California journal, Spillway.  In 2015, Thompson was awarded a Fellowship from the City of Los Angeles.
