Published poet, translator and scholar (born New York), relocated to Israel in 1983 with a B.A. in English (with distinction) from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in Creative Writing from the City College of New York and a $5,000 New York State Creative Artists Public Service poetry grant; began translating Hebrew poetry in 1993. In 2001, received a Ph. D in English from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a thesis on the poetry of Sylvia Plath. From 2001-2010, taught literary translation at Hebrew University and most recently at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, in Spring 2019 [in Spring 2017: A​ horse of a different color: literary translation in practice (for 1st year students) and Translation as intervention (2nd & 3rd year)]. In Fall 2017: Translator-in-Residence at the University of Iowa MFA in Translation program.   Since May 2017, served as Central Editor for the Poetry International Rotterdam web site, initiating, coordinating and editing English language material submitted by country editors. In addition, edits poetry translations for the Rotterdam international poetry festival, now in its 51th year. Since 2003, has edited the Israeli pages of Poetry International. https://www.poetryinternational.org/pi/country/12/Israel/en/tile Her work on the Israeli domain includes translating major Israeli poets of past and present, choosing poets and translations and writing introductory articles. In addition to translating contemporary Israeli poets and finding them homes in American and British magazines and books, she has lectured publicly about translation from the Hebrew language at the Boston University Literary Translation Seminar, the Rotterdam Poetry Festival, and the University of Utah, among other venues, and, most recently, in September 2019 at Translating Poetries: a Symposium for Translation Practitioners, SOAS, London.    Are You With Me, a chapbook of verse, was published by Finishing Line Press in October 2016. Reconstruction, a volume of poetry (written in English and translated into Hebrew, as well as a series of poems written in Hebrew) was published by the veteran Israeli press Am Oved in 2009.  In 2008, awarded a Ledig House International Writers Residency and the Mississippi Review Poetry Prize.
