Justin Hocking is the former Executive DIrector of the Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC) in Portland, Oregon, and the author of the memoir The Great Floodgates of the Wonderworld (Graywolf Press, 2014), which won the 2015 Oregon Book Award for Creative Nonfiction. His writing has also appeared in Orion, The Normal School, the Rumpus, Portland Review, Open City, Rattapallax, and elsewhere. He is a co-founder of the the IPRC's yearlong Certificate Program in Writing, and the Wilderness Writing MFA Program at Eastern Oregon University. In 2013, WIllamette Week named him as one of the "Ten Writers Who Made Portland."
