Christine Byl is the author of Dirt Work: An Education In the Woods, a finalist for the 2014 Willa Award in non-fiction. Her prose has appeared in The Sun, Crazyhorse and Glimmer Train, among others. A recipient of Rasmuson Foundation and Alaska State Council on the Arts awards, she makes her living doing trail design and construction across Alaska. She lives on a few acres of tundra north of Denali National Park in the shadow of the Alaska Range. She is currently at work on a novel.
