Marie-Helene Bertino's debut collection of stories SAFE AS HOUSES won The Iowa Short Fiction award and was named an Outstanding Collection by the Story Prize. Her debut novel 2 A.M. AT THE CAT'S PAJAMAS, a Barnes and Noble Discover Pick, was a Best Book of 2014 from NPR, and others. She is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from The MacDowell Colony, NYC's The Center for Fiction, and Hedgebrook. She is a former editor at One Story, and lives in Brooklyn where she teaches at NYU and in the low-residency M.F.A. program at The Institute for American Indian Arts. For more info, please visit
