Joanna Sit was born in Guangdong, China, lived in Hong Kong and Canada, and immigrated to New York at the age of eight. She is the author of two books of poetry: My Last Century (Spuyten Duyvil 2012) and In Thailand with the Apostles (Spuyten Duyvil 2014). Her poems and translations have appeared in Amethyst Arsenic, Wreckage of Reason II: An Anthology of Experimental Writing, Five Willows On-Line Literary Magazine, and Ezra: On-Line Magazine of Translations. She is currently working on a new book of poems and a translation project about Cantonese Opera and New York Chinese immigrants in the 60s entitled The Reincarnation of Red. 

Joanna Sit has worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, and Harper's Bazaar Magazine. She currently teaches in Brooklyn at Medgar Evers College, the City University of New York, and lives on New York Lower East Side with her family.
