JoeAnn Hart is the author of the true crime memoir, Stamford ’76: A True Story of Murder, Corruption, Race, and Feminism in the 1970s (University of Iowa Press, April, 2019), and the novels Float and Addled. Her short fiction, essays, and articles often focus on the relationship between humans and their environments, natural or otherwise. Her work has appeared in a wide variety of publications, including the Boston Globe Magazine, Design New England, Orion, Solstice, and the anthology Black Lives Have Always Mattered. She presented Float, a dark comedy about plastics in the ocean, at the International Literature Festival Berlin 2017 as part of ”Reading the Currents. Stories from the 21st Century Sea.” Non-fiction work was presented at the European Association for the Study of Literature, Culture and Environment (EASLCE) Würzburg 2018.
