Michael Simms is the founder of Autumn House Press and its imprint Coal Hill Review. He has been the lead editor on over 100 books of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, including multiple editions of The Autumn House Anthology of Contemporary American Poetry. He is the author of  5 collections of poetry -- Notes on Continuing Light, Migration, The Fire-Eater, The Happiness of Animals, and Black Stone -- and the co-author of The Longman Handbook of Poetry. Simms has held teaching positions at the University of Iowa, Southern Methodist University, Community College of Allegheny County, Carnegie Mellon University, Duquesne University, and Chatham University. Recently, he launched a new online magazine -- Vox Populi: A Sphere for Politics and Poetry.
