Rachel M. Hanson is the author of The End of Tennessee (University of South Carolina Press, 2024), and has published prose and poems in The Iowa Review, Ninth Letter, Meridian, Juked, The Minnesota Review, American Literary Review, and elsewhere. Her work has received notable mention in Best American Essays, has been published in Best New Poets, and won Best of the Net. She was the 2017/2018 Olive B. O'Connor fellow in nonfiction at Colgate University, PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Missouri. Rachel is an assistant professor in English at the University of North Carolina-Asheville, and the executive director of the literary nonprofit, Punch Bucket Lit.
