Up to 8 playwrights will work on the final drafts of their plays. Students will be chosen by an application process.

This is a special master class with Chicago Dramatists Resident Playwright Emilio Williams.

The course includes 5 zoom group workshops of 3 hours each and 2 private advisories of 30 minutes each.

National Application Deadline: Midnight June 15th.

Interviews Week of June 22nd.

7 weeks on Tuesdays, from July 21 to September 1.

Featured Writers Include:

Emilio Williams is an award-winning writer and educator. His critically-acclaimed plays have been produced in Argentina, Estonia, France, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington DC. He has been a visiting artist at the University of Portland, Georgia State University, Mary Washington University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists where he is also a faculty member. In the fall of 2020, he will teach at Columbia College, Dominican University, and Georgia State University.
