Rockvale Writers' Colony is a Writer-in-Residence program located 40 miles south of Nashville, TN. Applications are accepted year-round from writers of all genres and backgrounds. Beginning and established writers are all welcome.

Come discover the haven of Rockvale Writers' Colony, nestled on 65 acres of rolling hills surrounded by peaceful farmland. Writers will stay in their own private bedroom with private attached bathroom amenities and access to a shared kitchen and cozy, spacious common areas. Housing is split between four different structures: the main Farmhouse, the historic Cabin, the restored Granary, and the 2-bedroom Carriage House apartment.

Whether one prefers to work in the solitude of their bedroom or find a special spot in the great outdoors, there is plenty to explore throughout the property. Gardens, nature trails, and large porches are available for everyone to enjoy.

Rockvale Writers' Colony welcomes writers of all genres and backgrounds as they escape the stresses of everyday life and take this opportunity to work on their special writing project.

Writers are encouraged to stay a minimum of 1 week. Applications are accepted year-round for stays up to 4 weeks. Meals are not provided, but a welcome dinner is hosted every Monday night for our arriving (and still residing) writers.
