"Exploring the Frontiers of Language," the North Words Writers Symposium welcomes all to an intimate setting with just 40 participants engaging with authors in a spectacular Alaska setting. NOTE NEW DATE FOR 2020!

Join 2020 keynote author Bill Streever and our faculty of Alaska-NW authors for three days of panel discussions, writing workshops, readings, and adventure in Skagway, Alaska.

Symposium events include either a ride on the White Pass & Yukon Railroad to the Denver Glacier Trailhead for a morning of exploring, or a boat trip across Skagway Bay and waterfall hike-write at Burro Creek Lodge; a barbecue with live music at Alderworks Writers & Artists Retreat in Dyea; and a keynote banquet overlooking beautiful Jewell Gardens. Most meals are included.

We invite you to converge here in late August 2020 (postponed from late May due to CVOID-19) with a community of writers in search of inspiration and refreshment under the midnight sun. The Symposium offers solid craftwork, thoughtful discussion and experiences that will last a lifetime.
