Guest writers and musicians read and perform each Third Thursday, with new guests each month, including writers and musicians.

Amy Haddad will read from her poetry, including “An Otherwise Healthy Woman,” published by Backwaters Press, an imprint of the University of Nebraska Press in early 2022, for which she received two AJN Book of the Year Awards: first place in the Creative Works Category and second place in the Professional Issues Category.

Carolina Hotchandani will read from her debut poetry book, The Book Eaters, 2023 Perugia Press Prize Winner The book was one of the ten debut poetry books featured in the 2024 Poets & Writers Magazine’s Debut Poets issue.

Featured Writers Include:

Amy Haddad, an educator of nurses and pharmacists from 1988-2018, is also a pioneer in the use of poetry, creative prose and narrative writing as approaches to teaching healthcare ethics. She joined the Board of Directors of Nebraska Cultural Endowment in 2023.

Carolina Hotchandani is a Goodrich Assistant Professor of English in Omaha, NE. She received scholarships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Community of Writers, Napa Valley Writers’ Conference, the Rona Jaffe Foundation, and Tin House Writers’ Workshop.
