You know you have a story to tell. But how do you get started? How do you know when you're done?
Katherine and Laurie offer a week of exercises, writing prompts and editorial feedback to help you write your own life. Whether you have a fully-finished manuscript or just an idea in your head, learning more about writing your own life can give you insights, release, and personal satisfaction you can't find elsewhere.
Honing your skills by owning the place and time in which you have lived, developing characters from real life, re-producing dialogue, providing the stories behind the story and structure are a few of the challenges in memoir writing that we will be addressing. Writing your own life can change your life, and both instructors have the books, the chops, and the love of teaching the craft of memoir to prove it.
