Adult education program offering a wide range of writing courses and certificate programs year-round for writers of all levels.

UC Berkeley Extension is the continuing education arm of the University of California, Berkeley. Our Writing Program provides students with the opportunity to prepare for graduate level study, polish their work for publication, or prepare for a career in communications. We offer courses year-round, both online and in the traditional classroom, in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and journalism, and we also offer four certificate programs of study: Certificate Program in Writing, Specialized Program in Professional Writing, Professional Sequence in Editing, and the Professional Sequence in Technical Communication.
