HRW's Tenth Annual Writers' Conference, which takes place Sept. 13 - 15, 2018 at the Virginia Beach/Norfolk Conference center, Holiday Inn Hotel, Virginia Beach, VA, offers outstanding opportunities to network, improve your craft and marketing skills, and pitch work to agents.

1 evening plus 2 full days of workshops, 2 best-selling keynoters, 2 first ten-lines critique sessions, 60 workshops during 10 breakout sessions, ten-minute agent pitches, NO-FEE, cash-prize contests for short fiction, short nonfiction, and poetry, FREE 90-minute networking social with food and drink, and evening 2-hr open mic session. Optional conference features include: 4-hour, pre-conference boot camp led by Frank Milligan for an additional $75.00, and a 4-hour pre-conference master class led by lit agents Caitie Flum, Steven Salpeter, and Uwe Stender for an additional $80.

Workshops cover fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, YA, screenwriting, and the business of getting published. A book shop, book signings, and many networking opportunities will be available.

Vendor tables available--price not yet determined.

Tuition includes continental breakfasts, buffet lunches, and all-day beverage service on Friday and Saturday; 90-minute networking social on Friday evening that features food, cash bar, and silent auction items; and an Open Mic following the social.

For an additional fee ($75), we're offering a 4-hour, pre-conference boot camp. September 13, 12 - 4 PM.

For an additional fee ($80), we're offering a 4-hour pre-conference master class led by lit agents Caitie Flum, Steven Salpeter, and Uwe Stender. September 13, 12 - 4 PM.

Hampton Roads Writers is an all-volunteer, 501c3, Virginia Beach, Virginia-based group of professional and aspiring writers, friends, and supporters of the arts who have joined together to promote the craft and passion of writing and the love of reading and literature in Virginia.
