TUITION / COST:$650 for weeklong workshops, $1,525 for weeklong novel or memoir master classes, $1,250 for weeklong poetry master classes, $350 for weekend workshops. Discounted tuition rate of $325 per weekend workshop with weeklong or master class registration.

Named one of the Top Ten writers' conferences in the United States by USA Today, the Taos Summer Writers' Conference is an annual, weeklong gathering that draws writers from all over the country to the inspirational setting of Taos, New Mexico. Known for its inclusive, nurturing community, the Taos Conference offers numerous weeklong and weekend workshops in fiction, poetry, nonfiction and screenwriting.

Summer 2014 marks the sixteenth year of the Conference. All special evening events are free and open to the public. Online registration opens December 2, 2013.

Classes in: Novel, Memoir, Poetry, Fiction, Short Story, Prose Style, Screenwriting, Flash Fiction, Narrative, Travel Writing and more.

We offer need-based, merit-based, and minority-based scholarships, including a Taos Resident Award, a Native Writer Award, a Hispanic writer award, two Leo Love Merit Scholarships, and the D.H. Lawrence Fellowship. Check website for application deadlines.

Every year, Taos Summer Writers' Conference features a Taos/NM artist. The 2014 featured artist is Geraint Smith .
