CityLit Project has been Baltimore's nonprofit literary arts center since 2004 with a special focus on events, public festivals, and publishing.

CityLit Project nurtures the culture of literature in Baltimore and throughout Maryland. It is best known for its CityLit Stage at the Baltimore Book Festival each fall and the CityLit Festival at Pratt Library each spring. Its CityLit Press imprint publishes fiction, poetry, and works of regional interest in quality print editions as well as select e-book versions.

Named a "can't miss event on the city's cultural scene" (Baltimore Magazine), CityLit Festival is a free, day-long celebration of the literary arts. Past guests have included Edward P. Jones, Steve Coll, Mark Doty, Elizabeth Spires, Junot Diaz, Thomas Glave, Jabari Asim, Tyehimba Jess, Mary Jo Salter, Paul Rusesabagina, Andrei Codrescu, Elizabeth Kostova, Sam Lipsyte, Stanley Plumly, Tom Lux, Edward Hirsch, Danielle Evans, Jaimy Gordon, and George Saunders.
