Last week, the Best Translated Book Awards released via The Millions this year’s list of 15 finalists for its annual $10,000 prizes in translated poetry and fiction. Among this year’s list of finalists are Don Mee Choi’s translation of Kim Hyesoon’s Autobiography of Death (New Directions), Lara Vergnaud’s translation of Ahmed Bouanani’s The Hospital (New Directions), and Mark Hutchinson’s translation of The Governesses by Anne Serre (New Directions). The Best Translated Book Awards is founded by Three Percent at the University of Rochester, and its $10,000 prize is provided by the Amazon Literary Partnership.
