AWP Announces New Anti-Harassment Policy

March 20, 2019

Dear Conference & Bookfair Attendees,

I am pleased to announce that AWP has just posted our new Anti-Harassment Policy. The addition of this new policy is indicative of our commitment to you, to work as hard as we can to try to create a Conference and Bookfair experience that is safe, mutually respectful, and enjoyable for all.

While we recognize that there is inevitably a certain degree of subjectivity in navigating the space between freedom of expression and offensive or threatening forms of expression, AWP is committed to a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of bullying, harassment, and violence. Any and all forms of bullying, cyberbullying, threats, harassment, and stalking will not be tolerated.

AWP will always strive to balance the right to freedom of expression with our members’, employees’, attendees’, and Oregon Convention Center staff’s expectation of safety and a nurturing environment conducive to AWP’s mission and goals.
