The Academy of American Poets Names New Chancellors

Four poets have been named as new Chancellors of the Academy of American Poets: Ellen Bass, Forrest Gander, Terrance Hayes, and David St. John.

The positions have six-year terms, and new Chancellors are nominated by poets serving currently. They “will consult with the organization on matters of artistic programming, serve as judges for the organization’s largest prizes for poets, and act as ambassadors of poetry in the world at large.”
