Amazon's Very Own Litmag is Open for Submissions

April 2, 2014

Day One, Amazon’s weekly literary journal, launched October 2013 and delivered digitally via the Kindle e-reader device, is open to submissions by unpublished authors, poets, and visual artists. Day One editor Carmen Johnson says the magazine is interested in “fresh and compelling short fiction and poetry by emerging writers.” Fiction submissions are limited to 20,000 words maximum. Submissions, with brief descriptions and author bios, are accepted as attachments to emails sent to dayone-submissions@amazon.com. Each week one story, one poem, and one original cover drawing will be showcased.

Still in its first six months of operation, the journal aims to put out 52 issues each year, one poet and one fiction writer at a time, along with author interviews for each piece, with an emphasis on publishing debut writing.
