Stuart Dybek wins the MacArthur Award

Stuart DybekA Distinguished Writer in Residence at Northwestern University, Stuart Dybek has won the $500,000 stipend which will be paid out in equal quarterly installments over five years. The author of three short story collections, numerous anthologized works of short fiction, and two books of poetry, Stuart Dybek lives in and writes about Chicago. Dybek’s three books of fiction are Childhood and Other Neighborhoods (1980), The Coast of Chicago (1990), and I Sailed with Magellan (2003). His two collections of poetry are, Brass Knuckles (1979) and Streets in Their Own Ink (2004).
